One thing that I found interesting in the real estate industry was that the many real estate professionals that I became acquainted with never actually owned any properties of their own. An even scarier thought was that they had never even done a simple rehab or even done something as basic as installing a hot water heater. However, here they were managing large portfolios of other people’s properties or leading construction teams. It was at this point that I saw a huge deficiency. How can someone get involved in such a complex and dynamic field without true, and all encompassing experience in real estate?

Additionally, I have had the privilege of coming from a family of union workers and used the knowledge attained to fund my higher education. I have worked on hundreds of sites, large and small, and have done anything from plumbing, concrete work, hanging and taping and re-wiring to site clean-up. The on-site knowledge that I learned working as a laborer and carpenter for 10 years has given me the knowledge to readily lead any construction team or manage any site. Furthermore, I often take the time to do some site work of my own for every project, not only to fine-tune my own skills but also so that I can closely monitor and ensure that the client is receiving the specified work to the quality that I demand.
